Injection Therapies

Dr. Wilcox has integrated several styles of injection therapy into his practice since 1998. Dr. Wilcox is Board Certified in Injection Therapy in New Mexico. These procedures are nonsurgical treatments for most forms of musculoskeletal and joint pain, and dysfunction. Some can even help regenerate connective tissue damage to muscles, tendons, ligaments, and cartilage, as well as degenerative changes in the joints, genitals, prostate, skin and hair.

The Injection Therapies that Dr. Wilcox provides include:

Injection Therapy Options

Prolozone

Prolozone involves the injection of Procaine (a local anesthetic and optimizer of cellular electrical charge) combined with injectable homeopathic medicines, vitamins and minerals. This is followed by administration of a combination of O2 and O3 gas. More about this “magical” combination of gases under IV Therapies below. Prolozone injections help fight local infections, resolve inflammation and pain, release trigger points, and stimulate regeneration of joints anywhere in the body including the back and neck. Prostate problems often respond to Prolozone Injections. Prolozone was developed by Frank Shallenberger, M.D. who trained Dr. Wilcox.

Price:
$200 per injection

PRP Regenerative Injection Therapy stimulates regeneration of muscles, tendons, ligaments, cartilage, and overall joint health anywhere in the body including the back and neck. Therefore, pain is resolved and function improved. PRP is short for Platelet Rich Plasma. This involves harvesting PRP from the blood of the patient. Blood is composed of red and white blood cells, and clear plasma. The plasma contains platelets. When we are injured, the platelets move to the sight of injury to stop bleeding and release growth factors to begin healing. The platelets are harvested from the patient’s own blood and are concentrated for injection into specific locations. Once injected, they release their growth factors that jump start regeneration of the cells and attract the body’s own stem cells to the area of injection which further contributes to regeneration and resolution of inflammation and pain. PRP was first developed by hematologists in the 1970s and began to be used for injection therapy in the 1980s. PRPs therapeutic value is comparable to that of stem cells and is currently one of the most promising therapeutic agents in regenerative medicine.

$900 per injection

Genital Optimization Therapy involves the injection of PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) and sometimes Prolozone to stimulate the regeneration of the cells and tissues of the male and female genitals, including the male prostate. Dr. Wilcox was trained and certified in performing the PShot for men and the OShot for women by Dr. Lisbeth Roy who was authorized to teach and certify these procedures by their creator Dr. Charles Runels.

Combining Genital Optimization injections with Shockwave Therapy, while improving Bioidentical Hormone levels and balance can enhance sexual desire, performance, and pleasure for both women and men.

Trigger Point Injection Therapy involves the injection of Procaine (a local anesthetic) into specific Trigger Points in muscles to produce a twitch response that indicates the release of long held tension in the muscle and its nerve network, thus eliminating pain and tension. Trigger Point Injection Therapy was developed by Dr. Janet Travel, who was President Kennedy’s physician.

Neural Therapy is a treatment system to relieve chronic pain and illness through small injections of Procaine (a local anesthetic) into scars, peripheral nerves, autonomic ganglia, trigger points, glands, and other tissues. Treatment is based on normalizing the dysfunctional autonomic nervous system. Neural therapy acts as a “reset button” repolarizing nerves and ganglia and restoring membrane potential of damaged cells. Neural Therapy was originally developed in Germany in the early 1900s.
