Dr. Wilcox has been a licensed Doctor of Oriental in New Mexico since 1982. He was among the first in the nation to be nationally certified as a Diplomate in Acupuncture, and in Chinese Herbology, and then in Oriental Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Such certification requires graduation from a nationally accredited college with completed education in Acupuncture, Chinese Herbology, Bodywork, Exercise, Diet and Biomedicine. Well into his career, Dr. Wilcox returned to college and was awarded a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine in 1992 with a focused study in Chinese Herbal Medicine.
